Interviews/Reviews

At the bottom of this page you can find links to interviews of me or my characters as well as other blog reviews of my books.

Reviews Update October 2016:  After taking time off from reviews the last few years, I am once again accepting a LIMITED number of reviews in the cozy mystery, space opera, and humor genres.  I do not review erotica or YA, so please consider this within the genres specified above.

The things I seek in a novel are:
1.  Well edited
2.  Three-dimensional characters
3.  Showing versus telling
4.  Proper point-of-view usage - no head hopping within a scene
5.  Plot and pacing - keeps me reading without falling asleep

My reviews are based upon the standard five-star rating system. If your novel contains too many errors that interfere with the reading experience, break too many of the aspects mentioned above, or bore me out of my skull, I will not finish the book and therefore will not write a review.  However, I always read up to 50% before making this determination and will inform you of my reasons for not finishing.

If you think your novel meets the aforementioned criteria, please submit the author name, book title, genre, word count, and book blurb to dabalepublishing@cox.net for consideration.  If I'm interested, I will respond within a few days.  If I'm not, I won't.

All of my reviews are posted with Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Goodreads, and anywhere else requested.

  1. Read your issue with unsolicited work. That's a shame folks can't be artists and just take their lumps. I respect your decision and wish you the best.

  2. Very sorry to hear that another dedicated reviewer has been harassed by thin-skinned authors. You were at the top of my wish list!

Cheers and best of luck with your writing!
